We ensure a seamless transition from the modern world into the heart of the ancient desert. Upon arrival at our welcoming guesthouse in Merzouga, you can securely park your vehicle, freshen up, and pack a small day-bag with essentials (camera, water, and sunscreen) before your adventure begins.

Day 1: Camel Ride, Sunset & Night in the Desert Camp

As the heat of the day subsides—typically between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM—your caravan departs from the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. The peaceful camel ride to the camp takes approximately one hour, providing ample opportunities to capture stunning photographs of your caravan casting long shadows against the sand. Depending on the exact time of year, your guide will pause the trek to let you watch a spectacular desert sunset from atop a high dune.

Upon arriving at the camp, you will be greeted with a refreshing glass of traditional Moroccan mint tea and shown to your private tent. You have free time to explore the immediate surroundings or try sandboarding before the evening meal.

Dinner is a highlight: when the weather is pleasant, a traditional, multi-course Moroccan meal (including a main dish, sides, and fresh fruit) is served outdoors under the stars. Afterward, gather around the communal campfire. Our team will perform traditional Berber drumming and singing, inviting you to dance and learn about Nomadic culture. Before retiring to your tent, take a short, peaceful walk into the dark dunes to fully appreciate the brilliant night sky.

Day 2: Sunrise, Breakfast & Return to Merzouga

Rise early to witness the Sahara’s most magical moment—the sunrise. Watching the first light crest over the dunes is a truly unforgettable sight. After taking in the morning colors, enjoy a hearty, freshly prepared breakfast at the camp. Afterward, you will mount your camel for the gentle, one-hour trek back to the village of Merzouga, bringing your overnight adventure to a close.
