DAY 1: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → AIT BEN HADDOU → MERZOUGA

Your private driver will collect you from your accommodation in Marrakech early in the morning. The journey south winds through the High Atlas Mountains along the famous Tizi n’Tichka route — one of Morocco’s most scenic drives, with jaw-dropping views across Berber valleys and rocky summits.

Your first stop is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the region’s most celebrated historic fortification. Built from clay and straw, this ancient ksar has starred in numerous international productions and offers a vivid window into Morocco’s pre-Saharan culture.

Continuing southeast through Ouarzazate — Morocco’s film capital — you will push deeper into the desert landscape. By late afternoon, the dunes of Erg Chebbi come into view. You will meet your camels and ride into the heart of the dunes as the sun descends, flooding the desert with amber and rose light.

Dinner and an evening of traditional Berber music await at your luxury desert camp, where a private tent with en-suite bathroom is prepared for you.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA → ZIZ VALLEY → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → IFRANE → FES

After watching the sunrise from the dunes and enjoying breakfast at the camp, your driver will accompany you northward on the second and final leg of your journey. You will travel through the lush Ziz Valley — a ribbon of palm groves and riverbanks cutting through the arid landscape — and then climb through the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Near Azrou, the forest opens up and Barbary macaques may be spotted in the cedar trees alongside the road. The picturesque mountain town of Ifrane offers a charming contrast before the road descends toward the ancient walled city of Fes, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or riad.
